We are currently working on five main projects to protect and promote public sector accountability.
Protecting rights when services are outsourced
Where public services are outsourced, we are advocatng for a rights-based approach to ensure services recognise people’s rights, deliver value for money to the taxpayer, and are better held accountable.
Supporting the implementation of the Hillsborough Law
Building on our work to improve inquests and inquiries to hold the state to account, we will support the implementation of Hillsborough Law to ensure victims, bereaved families and the public can access truth, accountability and justice.
A National Oversight Mechanism
We are working with experts group to develop a proposal for a National Oversight Mechanism to ensure lessons are learned and recommendations acted on from inquests, inquiries, and other state investigations.
Explaining the benefits of human rights protections
We are producing a paper series highlighting the practical benefits of the European Convention on Human Rights, including its role in protecting victims of state injustice and safeguarding people in health and social care services.
