About JUSTICE North
Home to over 15.5 million people, the North of England faces significant challenges in both criminal and civil justice.
In recent years, leaders have responded by developing some of the UK’s best examples of locally‑led justice innovation.
JUSTICE North identifies and analyses these successes, while connecting local leaders with Westminster, so the region’s breakthroughs can help shape national policy.

Who we are
JUSTICE North is led by JUSTICE's Chief Executive and Director of Strategy and Impact.
Tyrone is Director of Strategy and Impact at JUSTICE. He oversees the charity’s strategy, helping to strengthen its impact and influence and improve people’s experience of the justice system across the country. He also leads JUSTICE North, based in Liverpool.

How we work
We bring together experts from across the north of England to influence policy and deliver evidence-based reform.
Produce innovative research:
Our inaugural report, Closer to Home: Principles for a Justice System Shaped by Communities, draws on empirical case studies across the North to suggest a set of principles to guide justice devolution.
Advocate for change:
We work with politicians, lawyers, and local communities to push for transformative reforms like the Hillsborough Law.
Host thought-leading events:
Our recent ‘Journey to Justice’ event at Liverpool Town Hall brought together a range of leading figures from the law and politics, including Mayor Steve Rotherham, Lady Hale and Baroness Shami Chakrabarti.
