On Monday 16th March, JUSTICE Scotland will host two exciting events bringing together practitioners, policy-makers, and those with lived experience to explore the impact of human rights and the rule of law.
Afternoon Panel Discussion: Examining the European Convention on Human Rights
This discussion examines the European Convention on Human Rights and its real-world impact in Scotland, chaired by Angela O’Hagan (Chair of the Scottish Human Rights Commission), and featuring Aaliya Seyal (CEO at Legal Services Agency), Hussein Patwa (accessibility consultant and panel member of the SNAP2 - the Scottish national action plan for human rights), and Nathalie Stevenson (Manager at VOX Scotland).
Taking place in the McKenzie Building within the Faculty of Advocates, registration is from 2pm, with the discussion starting at 2.30pm. The session ends with a drinks and networking reception, finishing at 5.00pm.
This event is held in collaboration with the Scottish Legal Action Group.
Evening fireside chat: The JUSTICE Scotland Lecture
This year's JUSTICE Scotland lecture is a joint conversation between Catherine Smith, Advocate General for Scotland, and Sir Ian Forrester, renowned European law practitioner.
