JUSTICE relies on the support and assistance provided by interns. We have an established internship programme, taking place in the Summer and Winter each year. Internships at JUSTICE We are now inviting applications for our summer internship programme. Each summer JUSTICE takes on at least three interns to undertake in-depth legal research in a particular area of JUSTICE's work. For this reason we are now seeking applications from law graduates only. This includes people who expect to have completed a law degree or conversion course by the time they start their internship. In exceptional cases, we will consider applications from non-law graduates who can demonstrate in their application that they have relevant knowledge/ experience equivalent to a degree. JUSTICE interns gain the opportunity to develop skills and experience of working on important areas of legal policy at a national level as well as the chance to be part of a small, friendly and committed staff. Interns may also be required to undertake some administrative work. Our summer internship programme will run between June and September 2010. Successful applicants must commit to working for a minimum of 4 days per week, 10am to 5pm, ideally for 6 weeks, but for at least one month. Internships are unpaid, however expenses incurred by interns while working at JUSTICE are refunded. This covers the cost of travel expenses within London, £3.00 per day for lunch, plus approved incidental expenses. To become an intern To be considered for a summer internship please email a copy of your CV to Hayley Smith (hsmith@justice.org.uk) together with a brief covering letter that explains your interest in JUSTICE and the internship programme, describes your relevant experience and skills, and provides your availability over the summer. It would also be helpful if you indicated the particular area of our policy work you are interested in as this year internships will be offered in Criminal Justice, Human Rights or EU Home Affairs and Justice (with an emphasis on criminal justice). JUSTICE's internship programme is governed by equal opportunities principles. All appointees are interviewed and references taken up. The closing date for applications for the summer internship is Friday 7th May 2010. Short-listed candidates will be invited for interview in late May. For further information
